Ugly cry of the century

Yesterday, after long anticipation, Don and I went to see Marley & Me. Mind you, we had listened to the author narrate the book on CD on a road trip we made early 2007 and I knew what to expect. So on the way out the door, I pulled 3 kleenex out of the box and off we went. I had a half day vacation yesterday, and he is off until Jan 5, so we went to a matinee. The theatre was PACKED at 2pm! Jennifer Aniston & Owen Wilson did a great job playing who they did. They really brought those characters to life for me. Even though I think Owen Wilson needs a nose job. Really badly. Who doesn't think that?!?! Surely the guy knows his nose looks like a penis. I digress. Without giving the movie details away, I will just say this. I laughed and cried over and over again. If you are one of those people who is worried about your image and crying in a movie theatre, this movie is NOT for you. Thanks to Oprah, I also now call it "The Ugly Cry". For those of you who do not know what that is, it is quite simple. It means you have cried so hard that your face is distorted and ugly afterwards. When I got home, swollen eyes & nose, I picked my little poopie doopie up and hugged and kissed on her until she couldn't stand it anymore. Fur all over my coat, I did not care. Heck, I didn't even clean it off and walked in to work today like it was a badge of honor. I am a dog owner :-)

Oh, and by the way, take more than 3 kleenex.

Closest Thing To A Grandkid

Luca. aka Lukie Pookie. aka Poopie Doopie. aka Pooper.
My poor parents. Here I am, almost *choke* 36 in a few short months, and the only grandchild I have given my parents is my 1.5 year old pooch Luca. I am thankful she's a good dog and not too crazy for them to love her as much as I do. They take care of her when I/we go out of town, and she shows her enthusiasm when they visit by running circles around the entire house until she can barely breath anymore.
If my eggs aren't already hard boiled by now, maybe one of these days I will produce a human grandchild for them, but until that time, the Pooper will have to suffice :-)

Busted

While driving home from Thanksgiving festivities at my Aunt & Uncle's house in Springfield a few weeks ago, I guess I "REALLY" ran a red light. Not noticing the tall white cameras at the intersection, I just flew on through. Yesterday, after being re-routed from my previous address, I received my Notice of Traffic Violation. There it is, plain as the colorful pictures of my violation that they provided. $100 because I ran a red light. You have got to be kidding me. And the even more exciting part of this story, is you can actually view the video of your violation online!

Mind you, I have not had any type of driving violation in at least 10 years. There goes my perfect driving record!

Thanks City of Springfield!

Lazy Sunday

Don snapped this picture with his phone yesterday while Luca and I took a little nap. Too cute not to share.

Engagment Photo

We had engagement pictures taken this past Sunday. Even though I felt like complete crap from a sinus infection, I still mustered up a smile.

My trip to San Diego

This was a sign outside of the Agave Grill, where we ate lunch at one day. I found it humerous so I snapped a pic with my phone. I have never seen a restaurant's dress policy that references du-rags and wife beaters! Funny...

View from where I ate lunch one day, at the Fish Market. It was breath taking. And the food was excellent. I had shrimp/scallops/bacon skewers with jasmine rice and steamed veggies. Yumm-o.

This larger than life replica of the famous kissing sailor picture was outside of the Fish Market. It was so neat to see this. I wish I knew it's dimensions. HUGE.

Yes, I did more than just eat in San Diego! Besides the work I had to do during the day, I was also fortunate enough to visit with some family & friends that lived a couple of hours outside of where I was at. My half-sister Marianne (my dad's daughter) drove down and we had dinner and looked through some photo albums she brought by. Really enjoyed my visit with her. Too bad we don't live closer together. We'd hang out often I'm sure. Also had a friend attending USC who drove down for the evening. Hung out at an Irish Pub playing trivia and putting back some beers, and vodka/red bulls...yikes! That was my first time drinking those and I must say, they're pretty good. She insisted on Grey Goose because it avoids a hang over. Thanks Amber! It worked :-)

All in all, it was a good trip and I'd move there in a heart beat.

LOVE IT

I think this is it folks! Not too fluffy, no crynalin, no train, not white, I think it's just perfect! This is an "Antique 30's Style" silk gown. Not sure I want to pull off a finger-wave hair style to go along with it, nor vintage shoes (they are a little ugly IMO), but this is a good start!

SCAM ALERT

Since I decided to try this brilliant idea of Acai Berry, I have had 2 unauthorized withdrawals of funds from my checking account. One from "Fit Factory" and the other 2 from "Price Limbo".
I have had to wait and wait AND WAIT on hold for Lord knows how long to clear these issues up with their "customer NO-service". There are little "extra's" that you apparently sign up for when
feverishly typing your order info for the golden diet pills. SOOO...my word of advice?
*choke*...lose your weight the old fashioned way. And DON'T ORDER ACAI BERRY FROM THE INTERNET!!!

Yes, I am guilty...

I will admit. I fell for the 1 billion Acai Berry advertisements I've been seeing strewn all over the internet. I got my free trial on Monday. I actually have a 2nd free trial on it's way because I ordered this stuff 3 weeks ago and they said delivery in 5-6 days so I called and complained.
I am on my 3rd day of taking it. The pills are melt-away tablets and actually taste really good! I take 2 a half hour before I eat.
I can vouch that my energy level has increased, I actually feel it. However, my weight, has not budged, but then again, it's only been 3 days.
Heck yeah I want to look sexy this summer! I believe I'll be wearing a bikini on some beach somewhere on my HONEYMOON!!
I'll let ya'll know if this is a scam or if it actually works (if you are curious...I know I was).
Yes mom, I know I need to exercise too. Blah.
